Slurry pump lantern ring is a shaft seal part where the flushing water or lubricating grease is injected through.

Slurry pump lantern ring is located between two rings of packing, the ring of packing between the impeller and lantern ring is simply to throttle the flushing water or lubricating grease.

Slurry pump lantern rings are normally made in stainless steel 304 and 316.
