Slurry Pump Casing

Slurry pump casing is another main wet part which directs slurries to the pump outlet in unlined slurry pump.

Most slurry pump casings are slower than water pumps with large clearance at the cutwater, this volute casing form gives a little less efficiency compared with water pumps. However, this volute casing form reduce wear through lower internal velocities, and this is best compromise between wear life and efficiency.

Slurry pump casings are normally made in wear resistant cast iron of 27% Cr, special alloys are also available.
